Terms of service

The agreement

By using TPM Tracker you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What this is

TPM Tracker is a work tracker. On your own, it keeps your tasks, reviews, follow-ups, meetings, notes and the things you are waiting on from other people. With a team, it adds shared tasks, sprints, epics, boards, documents, retros, comments and time tracking. It is currently operated by an individual rather than a company.

Your account

  • You need an account, created with Google or with an email address and password.
  • Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Do not share logins; invite the other person to your team instead.
  • Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has access to your account.

Your personal space and teams

Every account comes with a personal space that only you can see. You can also create teams, or join one when you are invited. A team is shared: what anybody creates in it is visible to all of its members. The privacy policy sets out exactly what teammates can see.

If you run a team

  • The person who creates a team is its owner. Owners and admins decide who is invited, what roles people have, and how the team is configured, and they can remove members.
  • Only invite people who expect to hear from you. Invitations are sent by email, and there is a daily limit on how many each person can send.
  • If your team works on behalf of an organisation, you are responsible for making sure it is fine to keep that organisation's work here.
  • Deleting a team permanently deletes everything in it, for everyone. Export it first if anybody might need it.
  • A team needs an owner. Before the last owner leaves, they hand ownership to somebody else or delete the team.

If you are a member

  • What you add to a team becomes part of that team's shared record. Teammates can read it, and depending on their role they can change, archive or delete it.
  • If you leave a team or are removed from it, you lose access to it, and what you created there stays with the team.
  • Owners and admins can see the time you log in their team. Other members cannot.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • Use the app for anything illegal
  • Try to access other people's accounts, or workspaces you have not been invited to
  • Use invitations, comments or mentions to send spam or to harass anyone
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload the service, including the live notification connection
  • Probe or bypass security controls, unless you are reporting a vulnerability in good faith
  • Resell or redistribute the service as your own

If you find a security problem, please report it to hello@tpmtracker.com rather than exploiting it. Good-faith reports are welcome.

Your content

Everything you put into the app stays yours, or your team's. We claim no ownership of it and do not use it for anything other than showing it back to you and to the people you share it with. You can export it, as JSON, whenever you like.

By adding something to a team, you allow that team's members to see, edit and use it inside the team. That is the point of a team, and it does not give them, or us, any right to use it anywhere else.

You are responsible for what you store. Do not put anything in here that you are not allowed to keep, or that you are not allowed to show your teammates.

Time tracking

Timers, logged time, timesheets and reports are there to help you see where time goes. They are not a certified record for payroll, billing or legal purposes. If you invoice from them, check the figures first.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Access is read-only: the app never creates, edits or deletes anything in your calendar, and your events are never shown to a team. You can disconnect at any time from the Meetings page, or revoke access from your Google account settings. See the privacy policy for what is stored.

Email

We email you to confirm your address, reset a password, deliver team invitations, and send the daily digest if you switch it on. You can turn the digest off in Account settings at any time. There is no marketing email.

Availability

This is a small service run on modest infrastructure. It is offered as it is, with no uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable during maintenance, and features may change or be removed.

Please keep your own backups of anything important. The export in Account settings exists for exactly this.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. There is no guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that data will never be lost.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including lost data, lost profits or missed deadlines. Nor is the operator responsible for what other members of a team do with what you share with them.

Ending your use

You can leave a team, or delete your account, at any time. Deleting your account is permanent. The privacy policy explains what is removed with it and what stays with the teams you were part of.

Accounts or teams may be suspended or removed if they break these terms, or if the service is discontinued. If the service is shut down, you will be given reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top will be updated, and significant changes will be announced by email. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
